Turning 27!

A couple of weeks ago I turned 27 and I am not going to lie part of me was having a bit of a crisis about it and I was feeling old. My boyfriend took me to the beach for a couple of days and it was great fun. What better way to spend your birthday than at the beach. We chilled on the beach, browsed the local shops, ate lots of nice food and of course I had a few cocktails!
On the night of my birthday I decided that I wanted to play bingo at our hotel with the locals. I had never played bingo before and neither had my boyfriend. Surprisingly I really enjoyed it and we got quite competitive. I don’t know if it was playing bingo with a room of over 60s or the fact that I had loosened up from work over the couple of days but I was no longer bothered about being 27. I actually felt like I had so much more to see and achieve and that I was no longer in such a rush to feel that I had made something of my life. There is a lot of pressure from society and social media to be in a rush to settle down, buy a house and start a family and I don’t want to rush these things because what do I do after I have done all of that!!
By just taking those couple of days away from home and work it allowed me to truly relax and just have some fun and just be silly. Not everything in life has to be so serious and it is hard to remember that when you are trying to build a career and a life for yourself.
There is something about the beach that just make everything better whether it’s the sand between your toes or the sound of the waves hitting the beach. Life is just better at the beach!
