Chilled Weekend

This weekend I have been lucky enough to be able to enjoy four days off work. I had a couple of annual leave days to use so I decided to have a long weekend so that I could have a nice break from work before the busy Christmas period begins. I have thoroughly enjoyed having the extra time of work because it has allowed me to focus on jobs that I have been wanting to do for ages but I haven’t yet had the chance to do them. For example returning to my blog. I haven’t blogged in quite a while because I have been focussing more on other areas of my life but I have missed being able to blog regularly so I am hoping to get back into a more regular blogging schedule.
Sometimes when you are at work you forget about the things that you like doing the most and once you stop doing those things for a while it feels harder to be able to get back to doing them. So having a break away from the office allows me to think freely and be able to do the things I really enjoy. I think also because a lot of my time is spent in an office with people who have completely different interests to me, my interest somewhat get lost in the busyness of day to day life.
There is another Christmas market on today quite near to where I live so I am hoping to go and have a little look around and see if I can find any Christmas gifts. I am still struggling with a gift for my mom so I am hoping I will see something she would like. I may even treat myself to a Christmas film tonight to get myself even more in the Christmas mood.
Hope you are enjoying your weekend 🙂

Grey’s Anatomy Fix

For the last at least 7 years I have been watching Grey’s Anatomy. I think it was my sister who first got me into the show and I haven’t stopped watching it since. This is the only series that I continue to watch and I will always watch the new episodes when they are released in America. All of the other series that I have tried to watch I have given up on them after the first few series apart from prison break. However if prison break did bring out a new series I don’t know how I would feel about that as the last one wasn’t quite as good as the others.
I have always enjoyed watching Grey’s Anatomy and I think this is because when I was younger as at one point I wanted to be a surgeon. Obviously that didn’t happen as I am not very good at science. However watching this show can sometimes make you feel like you could be a surgeon.
My favourite character was always Christina Yang but unfortunately see left a few series back so I think my favourite is now either Alex Karev or Jackson Avery.
Even though some of the story lines feel quite unrealistic you can’t help but enjoy the show because the show is always jam packed with different storylines. Watching new episodes of Grey’s Anatomy is usually my treat on a Friday night for surviving a week of work. So as the new series returned a couple of weeks ago I am going to binge watch them tonight.
If you are looking for a new tv series to watch I would recommend Grey’s Anatomy however there is now 15 series so it could take along time to get through all the episodes.

Take Back Tuesday – Glastonbury

On Friday I went to explore Glastonbury; I have always wanted to go to Glastonbury festival but so far have not been lucky enough to go. A family member suggested going there when the festival was not on as the town is such a lovely place and there are quite a few unique shops to look around.
So we planned to travel down on Friday and see what Glastonbury was all about. We got there about 10.00am and we were instantly met with really cute unique shops to look in. There are definite hippie vibes in Glastonbury and it is such a welcoming environment. There are quite a few differently places to get food and sit outside and just enjoy the lively town. There are load of alley ways off the main street with lots of craft shop and crystal shops. Glastonbury is quite a spiritual place and there are lots of places you can go for psychics readings or healing readings. There is a goddess temple which we went in and it was quite a unique experience.
After looking round the shops and enjoying some food we decided to walk and go and find The Tor. Here is a picture of The Tor:-

From the town it looking really far away but once we started walking and found directions to it we realised it wasn’t far at all. Once we made it to the top the view was amazing and we spent a good hour at the top admiring the view and enjoying the sunshine. At the Top of The Tor there was swarms of ladybirds flying around. I have never seen anything like it, there was literally 1000’s of them flying around. At one point I think there was about 25 of them on me. It was an amazing sight to see but I have no idea what makes them all gather up there or whether there are always a number of them up there or whether it had just happened that day.
Afterwards we enjoyed some lovely food in a nice cosy pub before heading back home. I absolutely loved Glastonbury and would recommend going to have a look around. I now would like to go even more when the festival is on so hopefully one day I will manage to get some tickets.

Walking Adventures

I have spent quite a lot of the last week going on various different walk while I have been off work. I have really enjoyed spending a lot of time outside as I spend so much time inside at work. The weather has been really nice as well so that has made it even better and I have enjoyed soaking up the last bits of sunshine as winter will be here before we know it.
I have managed to walk around 60,000 steps over the last 5 days which I am really happy with as when I am at work I find it really hard to get to the 10,000 daily steps. I usually go on a couple of walks at the weekend but after walk it is lot harder to motivate myself but maybe now I have enjoyed so many walks this last week this will encourage me to keep it up when I go back to work.
I find walking really relaxing and it allows me to have time to reassess my life and find solutions to what I have been worrying about so that afterwards I can go an tackle whatever challenge pops up. I also like to explore new places and I think walking around is the best way to do this. As where I walked is quite near to a couple of little villages I was able to look around the villages and enjoy some nice lunches out as well.
Sometimes the most simplest walks can turn into some of the most enjoyable days where you just get chance to reflect and grow as a person.

Week off work :)

So this week I was lucky to have the week off work. I didn’t have much planed but I knew I needed a break so I book a week of annual leave. Work has been really busy this last month and I knew it was only likely to get busier so it was the perfect time to escape and have some me time. I was thinking of going away but instead decided to stay in the UK and go on a few little road trips but also just take some time to relax and try to figure out what my next step was going to be.
I did have an interview towards the start of the week which I was quite nervous about so I was glad to get it out of the way early on in the week. I am one of those people who get ridiculously nervous for an interview so I thought this interview would help to give me a bit more experience. The job was for a similar job to what I do know just in a different location. The interview went really well but I didn’t really get any significant vibes about the position and the way it was portrayed to me made me realise that If I was offered it I would decline it this time because it just didn’t feel right. I am glad that I went however because it has given me a little bit more confidence with interviews and has helped me to figure out what it is I am looking for in employment.
It has been nice to take this week as it comes and not have to rush around every day to make sure everything is done. I have been able to fully relax and enjoy my week off. Luckily my boyfriend had the same week off so we have been able to spend a lot more time together that what we usually do which has been really nice.
I am back to work on Monday which at this very moment I am not looking forward to but I know by the time Monday is here I will be raring to go. I will be back full of energy ready to tackle the week ahead.

Etsy!

I ended up setting up my own Etsy shop randomly after I had needed to get my sewing machine out ad make a few alterations to some clothes. I end up making little fabric bandana for the dogs in my family. I don’t get the chance to get my sewing machine out that often so when I do I get a little bit carried away and always want to continue to make something. I was struggling to think of ideas so I thought I would give the dog bandanas another go.
I ended up getting carried way and made quite number of them so I decided that I was going to set up a shop on Esty to see if I can make a little extra money. The bandanas are so easy to make and I have quite a lot of brightly coloured materials so they looked really nice. I took one round to my nan’s for her dog and he loves it and now waits for her to put it on in the morning.
I don’t imagine that I will sell very many but it was fun to have something to make and to have a reason to keep sewing. I really enjoy sewing but I do struggle to come up with ideas or I make something and then think I will never actually use it so it seems like a waste.
I have used Esty before when buying gifts as they have so many different unique present ideas but I have never had my own shop on there before. I have to say that it was very easy to set up and before I knew it I was all set up and ready to sell my items.

I am now looking at what else I can make and then sell on there for when I have my next creative moment.

Life Update

I haven’t blogged in the last week mainly because I have been trying to focus on other areas of my life and just haven’t really had the time to blog or I just haven’t really been feeling it. However I am back in full flow now and will be continuing to blog more regularly.
It has been quite a busy week this week at work as we have new managers in so there is a lot of change going on. I have still been looking for new jobs but I am still waiting for an interview to be arranged for a job that would be my dream. I did receive a email last night last to say it will be organised within the next 3 weeks so that made me feel a little more positive with the situation as I was quite worried that I hadn’t heard anything for the last month and a half. I am really hoping to have a new job in the next couple of months as even though I do enjoy my current job I do feel that I need to progress and set myself a new challenge.
This weekend is a fairly chilled one, I have spent quite a bit of time with my sister and we enjoyed a nice walk earlier with her dog. I am off out for a meal with my family tomorrow as it is my parents 30th wedding Anniversary. I then plan to hang out with my boyfriend and have some chilled time before going back to work on Monday. Tonight I am just catching up on bit and bobs that I didn’t get round to doing in the week so a fairly uneventful night planned but it is one that needs to be done so that I can empty my brain of a few jobs that I need to do.

Time to think of some blogs for the week ahead!

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far 🙂
